603 Beech St. up for grabs

Beechstreeters,

Just when the world starts to find out about the inner workings, history and secrets of 603 Beech St., the house is going up for sale. Yep. This week, maybe. Just talked to the realtor and we're setting it up this wednesday. The red hot Oberlin housing market is in the middle of a boom, bubble, nuclear explosion (that is, the house might sell in 2008 or beyond), so, it might be clever to reassemble the extended family for one last hurrah before DC sucks us all in. Besides, I don't have enough pictures of all of you sitting around the counter/table/kitchen, just 248,999. It's time we take the Ultimate Kitchen Picture and stop the "Why were you making that face??", 'What's WRONG with you??" and ''Why's the jar of Tang in the middle??'' comments that apply to the last 248,999 pics. So, you're all invited. Mom cooks. Memorial Day?

Love
DAD

Well, let me be the first to say congratulations to mom and dad for taking the leap. This isn't going to be easy, but I'll do what I can to help get everyone get through it. Dad: before you ask, no, I'm not going to put in an offer, although it's tempting.

I will be there on Memorial Day weekend. I'm looking forward to it.

I am all for the family reunion too though I refuse to see it as the last one! I figure that there is nothing wrong with that kind of denial afterall, if the house sells in 2008 (or beyond) we are going to eventually have to show up at one point or another to get rid of spider webs.

I look forward to getting together or like JB would say: "I'm exsited!"

haha. Nice Mom. I AM exsited.

Well, as I told you Dad I will definitely be there that weekend, but we have not yet decided whether Alex will stay and Danger!sit or whether we'll bring Danger! with us. If God is smiling on you, D!dog will come.

As for making this the final hurrah--that's depressing. I'll pretend like none of this is happening and just watch netflix.

Oh boy, this is going to be so bittersweet. Considering that this possibly may be one of the last family reunions, it is imperative that Danger!dog is present. Jb, in order for him to truly understand you, he needs to know where you come from. It's a shame that Dodge!(in italics) is not around yet, but at least Danger!dog can pass on the stories to him...

No worries everybody! John Romano decided to our house, so we can use it for family reunions for the rest of our lives!

But on a serious note, Danger! better come, and I will be home as well with my video camera rolling.

SO ExSited

I agree with Carla & Nati: This is probably the only chance for Danger! to qualify as another 603 beechstreeter.

We have decided that we're bringing Danger! Dog. I think for once in his young puppy life he should be able to experience the freedom of a big backyard with no sharp objects or poop or discarded food in it.

I hope that he and Bailey get along...he handles himself well around other dogs. For example, yesterday we got rushed by a loose pit bull and Danger! was a calm as a the stagnant water of the reflecting pool. He's a hero!

I am determined to call Danger! just ANGEL. Since I can not ask his adoptive parents to change his name now, it will be his nickname for me.

Oddly enough, temperamental Bailey seems to be more cooperative with bigger dogs than smaller ones, so, in thoery, she should be okay.

If not, we'll take her to the Rybarczyks as needed. She's still getting used to dogs in general. It seems to be hit or miss--some relationships work out and some just never develop.

From the desk of the Curator of 603 Beech St.:

I'm so glad that everybody (Guillaume...where are you??) is planning to come home that weekend. It puts a lot of pressure on me, as I have to make sure that a certain level of cleanliness and order is achieved before your arrival. That won't be hard, as I have PROVED TO THE WORLD that I'm a lot neater than expected (not MomNeat, just neat). However, expectations will run high and I'm sure you'll all want to see 603 in all its glory, so I'll end this post right now, take the day off and go clean.

Besos y abrazos

Unfortunately, Guillaume won't be able to make it this weekend. My tennis star will be kicking a** over on the Asian continent for a month, leaving next wednesday. Apparently, he didn't think that India had enough people, so he thought he would populate the country a little bit more and play a few tournaments. I was told that he is sending Danger! as his representative.. i mean, they are equally as hairy (guillaume's hair is quite long now) and lovable.

For the record, i just drank a vanilla chai that tasted like armpit. I'm a bit disturbed right now...
