Some fotos for You

Hola!! Of course, as my trip comes to an end, I decide to post some pictures. Two weekends ago, I had the opportunity to go to Santa Marta, a small town on the Caribbean coast with a few friends. I had the most relaxing weekend in my life. We all went there w- the same motive: to sleep on the beach. So, that´s what we did 4 days in a row (it was a long holiday weekend here in Colombia). Santa Marta is surrounded by beautiful national parks, so in order to get to the beaches, we had to drive through them, take small boats- it was quite a hike, but worth it. One thing about Colombia i will miss... (sigh)

Since i was unable to be there w- you guys for Thanksgiving (i was there in spirit), i decided to have my own. Katy is visiting me now and between her, Claudia and myself, we made an awesome Thanksgiving dinner, which included: Turkey, mashed potato, vegetables, salad, stuffing, tiramasu, pumpkin bread... mm. We got the turkey a day before we actually cooked it and decided to name it- Julio Pablo el Pavo. He treated us right, it turned out GREAT!! Attached is a picture of our masterpiece. I wish you all could`ve tried my first turkey.

And finally, because this was our last weekend, my new friends took me to a restaurant called, La Jugateria- for all you non-spanish speakers- that means, `the Toystore.` The entire store is decorated with toys. Weird, i know. But it was a great time, great food, great music. I made some wonderful friends and although i´m ready to come home, i´m going to miss them terribly. Attached is a picture of everyone- except for Claudia, who is taking the picture.

SO!!! Lo siento for not posting pictures sooner. I really wish i could´ve shared more with you, to give you all an idea of the wonderful experience that i had. I wouldn´t take back one second that i spent here. I managed to travel all over the country, work on very interesting issues at work, meet the most beautiful people in the world and have fun. I´m not going to lie, the laid back Colombian lifestyle is going to be extremely missed, so please bare with me when i get back and excuse my whining because i´m paying $7 for a coke. Life has treated me very kindly here, but now it´s back to reality. I can´t wait to see you all, i miss all of you so much.

besitos!!

First of all, congratulations to Julia and Alex, a baby girl !!!!
Maybe it´s my extra sensitive power, but it didnt surprise me at all. Would it be possible to just "sense" that you guys were expecting a baby girl just by reading the first few words of your post?? Or I should just stop having "bourbon" for breakfast?... you tell me.

Anyway, Here are the four pics I have ALWAYS WITH ME. They are fromk the last sonogram, 20 something week.

DOESN´T HE LOOK VERY VERY VERY BOZZOLO???

Fetus Beta Update--20 weeks

For those across the equator and state lines, I thought I'd offer the latest on Fetus Beta, a.k.a. Han Solo. The latest ultrasound, which occurred last Friday, revealed that all parts for convenient human living are in place--arms, legs, feet, spine, stomach, kidneys, etc.--and in great shape. Han Solo is healthy, active, and even a little bigger than normal--I felt kicking for the first time yesterday! The big news--besides the fact that everything is in working order so far--is that Han Solo is in fact Han Sola. A girl! We didn't ask the doctor if she was 100% sure, but given the image we saw, I'm 100% sure. So, we're really excited and now the hunt is on for the right name. Suggestions are welcome (why do I think that "Guillermina" is going to find its way into the Comments?), but we've decided not to reveal the top contenders until the birthday, just so we don't have to hear people pooping on names that we really like. And, if I think your suggestion sucks, I'll tell you right away so that you don't carry false hope all the way until April, only to have your dreams crushed. That's how thoughtful I am.

In the meantime, enjoy the latest picture below. I added some guides so that her position can best be identified--she's on her back with her legs straight in the air. Her left arm is free and moving around (though you can barely see it at the moment of this shot) and she was lying on her right arm.

I think it's time for a Xime update now...
