Some fotos for You

Hola!! Of course, as my trip comes to an end, I decide to post some pictures. Two weekends ago, I had the opportunity to go to Santa Marta, a small town on the Caribbean coast with a few friends. I had the most relaxing weekend in my life. We all went there w- the same motive: to sleep on the beach. So, that´s what we did 4 days in a row (it was a long holiday weekend here in Colombia). Santa Marta is surrounded by beautiful national parks, so in order to get to the beaches, we had to drive through them, take small boats- it was quite a hike, but worth it. One thing about Colombia i will miss... (sigh)

Since i was unable to be there w- you guys for Thanksgiving (i was there in spirit), i decided to have my own. Katy is visiting me now and between her, Claudia and myself, we made an awesome Thanksgiving dinner, which included: Turkey, mashed potato, vegetables, salad, stuffing, tiramasu, pumpkin bread... mm. We got the turkey a day before we actually cooked it and decided to name it- Julio Pablo el Pavo. He treated us right, it turned out GREAT!! Attached is a picture of our masterpiece. I wish you all could`ve tried my first turkey.

And finally, because this was our last weekend, my new friends took me to a restaurant called, La Jugateria- for all you non-spanish speakers- that means, `the Toystore.` The entire store is decorated with toys. Weird, i know. But it was a great time, great food, great music. I made some wonderful friends and although i´m ready to come home, i´m going to miss them terribly. Attached is a picture of everyone- except for Claudia, who is taking the picture.

SO!!! Lo siento for not posting pictures sooner. I really wish i could´ve shared more with you, to give you all an idea of the wonderful experience that i had. I wouldn´t take back one second that i spent here. I managed to travel all over the country, work on very interesting issues at work, meet the most beautiful people in the world and have fun. I´m not going to lie, the laid back Colombian lifestyle is going to be extremely missed, so please bare with me when i get back and excuse my whining because i´m paying $7 for a coke. Life has treated me very kindly here, but now it´s back to reality. I can´t wait to see you all, i miss all of you so much.

besitos!!

For some reason when i sign into Blogspot, it´s in Portuguese. I don´t know why the other photos didn´t come out. I´m going to keep trying... in the meantime, enjoy the beach!

Munina...
Juicy update! Whenever I read your posts it's clear that you managed to make this trip unforgettable. It's also clear that you left your mark there, with many friends that joined the Munina Fan Club. I'm very happy for you. I am sure it will be quite a shock to come back to your usual routine here, and your stay there somehow will last a bit longer just because all the times you'll be thinking about everything you did.
So..can we speak spanish now when you're around?? Do you speak it with a colombian accent?? Or the Sanz songs are so deeply engraved in your brain that nothing will change that?
Can't wait to hear the whole, long version of everything you did there.
Muchos besos!

I agree with Dad--as soon as you get here you'll wish you were back there. As the philosopher Rudolph once said, "Sucks, but oh well."
Actually, it's the best of both worlds that way, I guess...

We should organize a photo viewing on Mom and Dad's gigantor screen-- the photo you will be bigger than the real you. I'm sure it's technologically possible. I don't know how.
