hello!! Thank you so much for the birthday wishes. It was SO GREAT to be able to talk w/ all of you yesterday and thank you so much for calling. This is definitely a birthday that i'll never forget, given that it's the first that i'm not close (in distance) to anyone. But I had a great birthday and given the circumstances, i couldn't have asked for anything more. I have made some wonderful friends here and they turned my birthday into a weekend-long celebration. Good times all around. Again, it was wonderful to talk w/ all of you and i'm very happy to hear that everyone is well. The pictures posted above are the best!! I can't wait to see more so please send them ASAP! Especially Julian dressed as a monkey. I just can't get enough.
It's amazing how in a matter of hours how things have changed. They officially asked me to stay until January 2nd and again, it's up to Washington to decide when I return. I told my boss here that I was expected back in DC on Dec 12th, but her response was, "Then i'll have to call DC." I think, ultimately, they want coverage for the holiday season. Both the Director and Deputy of NAS are going to be in the US and about 90% of the office will be on vacation. I'm hoping that something will be worked out. I'll keep you guys posted and let you know as soon as i find out. I still plan on going to Argentina for the first week in December, what happens after is still up in the air. boooooo..i wanna come home.
I finally have a camera and i took pictures this weekend. I'll try to post them as soon as i can, hopefully by tonight. And in the meantime, send me the pictures you guys took this weekend!!
