The Ohio Bozzolos have been trying to arrange a weekend trip to DC for Thanksgiving weekend. The tentative plan is to arrive at BWI Friday morning by Southwest (Carla, you should buy your tickets from Columbus or Cleveland ASAP. We're flying from Cleveland).
Can we quickly confirm that a family get-together will be planned for either Friday or Saturday night? Can a propose Friday afternoon/evening? If not, we'll change our travel plans accordingly.

Your arrival to the DC Metro area as you described looks good. I can only say that if you guys are here, we would plan our family gathering/s accordinly. If that means Friday dinner, I think that's reasonable. So unless somebody strongly disagrees with me, you are good to go.
For the rest of the 'familia', being that I'm the one cooking, I would need a head count for Thursday. Do you still want to get together on Thursday? Turkey? Just let me know.
Carla arrives here on wednesday, and I will be happy to eat on behalf of those not coming (Guillaume and, I believe, Rolo).

We are planning on Thursday dinner as well as whatever Friday/Saturday plans arise due to Nan/Dawn/Carla being in town. You have our vote for Friday dinner if that's the idea.
Great. I guess Natalia is the only one left to give Friday dinner an okay. We don't have to necessarily do it at home if you don't want to go out to Maryland two days in a row. You guys decide on that.

Friday sounds good to me! I can't do anything Saturday evening because I'm on the schedule to work at Cilantro- which i'm not complaining because this past weekend i made a total of $350.
Mom, i can come on Thursday too. I think you should save the turkey-making for Friday so all can enjoy. How about lasagna instead?!? If you want me to bring anything, let me know.
Poor Guillaume. This is by far his favorite holiday w/ the Bozzolos and actually considered delaying his flight to Tel-Aviv so he can be w/ us eating Thanksgiving dinner (to quote him directly - "a.k.a. being in heaven").

Well, there is good news (for me at least). As it turns out ROLO WILL BE IN TOWN NEXT WEEK!!! His family is going to be spending thanksgiving with his uncle again just like all the years before. Soooooo that's just something to keep in mind because Rolo will definitely spend at least one day and/or night with us, and i don't know if it will be too insane, but maybe his family can come over or something.. i don't know how it will work, but the good thing is that he'll be in town. His uncle lives near where JB and Nati used to live when they were living together, so i don't know if that is important information to consider, but that's the news!
Poor Guillaume, he really gets excited for this event, oh well, maybe he shouldn't leave the continent so much!
If Friday's dinner becomes the Thanksgiving dinner, that's fine with me. I'll just spend Thursday desperately studying.
We can do whatever sort of dinner at our house too...but if Friday's dinner is going to be turkey and stuff, I would leave that up to mom. Also, if we get together with the Russells, I don't think we can all fit at our house for a sit-down meal because the dining room has walls around it that prevent human expansion. But, we can have some sort of Saturday evening coffee, wine (maybe with coke for dad), dessert, games, etc. at our place that does not require sitting at a table. We're open to whatever.

I think that the picture idea is great! Which by the way reminds me of the turkey on big ass shot. For those readers unfamiliar with the event, one time Guille found a turkey sitting on the roof of his car, which was parked on the driveway!
Regarding dinner events, I am inclined to go for turkey on Thursday and whatever else on Friday. That way Nan & Dawn do not have turkey 2 days in a row like some other years. We can go for an Argentine/Thanksgiving gathering and have some empanadas & beef on Friday night. Just like the pilgrims should have had!

I actually tried to see if i had scanned that picture of the turkey on big ass at any point and had it on my computer, but i didn't. That was my first choice though.
Also, I had a dream last night that JB made little newspapers for everyone in the family that was like The Onion, but with only things regarding our family. I remember thinking it was really funny, but i don't remember specifically what she wrote.
And empanadas on friday sounds absolutely wonderful to me!

Strangely, unlike most humans, my appendix is functional and serves in a pre-stomach capacity.

So, is the Bozzolos+Russells get together on Friday (for empanadas) or Saturday (for cakes and pies)?? Saturday would work--that way we could do it at our house and I could ask as many people as possible to smell the basement stairs and tell me where in the balls that stench is coming from. Is it mothballs? Dog food? WHAT IS IT????? and why is it only in the stairway?
I think Saturday would be best for a couple of reasons. One being that dinner for 5000 people is way too much, and mom i bet is NOT up for that. The second reason being that we should probably have some private family time at one point, and since Friday night is the only night 100% of the Bozzolos will be together (because Nati is working at Cilantro on Saturday) we should keep Friday night private. It's been awhile. PLUS, it's probably easier for the Russell's to make their way over to JB's than to go all the way to Columbia... but I could be wrong.
Well then, Rolo, tell the Russells that they are invited to our house on Saturday night around...8ish? This is an after dinner thing, so I want to give everyone a chance to eat first.
This'll be great! I'll put out the fake pottery barn leaves we got as a wedding present. It'll be so "Thanksgiving".

Wednesday: Carla arrives, initiating the festivities.
Thursday: Turkey dinner at home with everybody sans Nan, Dawn, Guillaume, and Rolo. I'mparticularly looking forward to watch all the football games.
Friday: Empanadas dinner with everybody, at home again.
Saturday: Bozzolos & Smiths invade JB and Alex mansion.
Sunday: Exodus. Nan, Dawn, Carla and DadGuille go to Ohio.

Bad News. The Russell's can't make it to the gathering on Saturday because they are shortening their trip to a day less to help Alexa move into her new apartment, so that's off.
Since the Smith's can't come on Saturday, does that mean that we are still going to get together at JB and Alex's or are we going to come up with a different plan?
oh man! I even decked out the place with festive christmas decorations! Well, I decked out the doorway into the dining room with decorations...
It's up to everyone else about Saturday. Now that there are fewer of us (Rolo, are you out too?), we can do dinner at our house instead of just after-dinner stuff. We can fit 8 or 9 at the table without too much of a problem.

Perhaps Saturday afternoon at JBs would be appropriate so that Natalia can join us before going to work Saturday night.
I like Nan's idea. And Rolo won't be there. But I second the Saturday afternoon thing so Nati can come.
Though it would be great and all-inclusive to do it earlier in the day, I was proposing dinner or post-dinner stuff on Saturday because I have a huge paper due Monday and need the day to work on it. So, sorry, I can only offer our place in the evening--I would say after 6:00pm. If things are looking on-track or better, maybe we can make an adjustment, but for now I have to nix an afternoon gathering at our house.
Then perhaps an evening at Cilantro would be appropriate.
We can decide on Friday I suppose.
Or, alternatively, let's start at JBs for dinner and see how the evening goes. If we feel like going out, we can maybe go to Cilantro. I like that plan better. JB should have the chance to host at her house, which never happens with everyone there. Maybe Natalie can come before or we'll see her at Cilantro after.
Let's tentatively plan on JBs at 6 on Saturday. We can decide on Friday.

At any rate, Saturday looks fine either way. With or without Cilantro at the end, it looks like JB, Alex & Danger! will host, so it would only be fair to ask what they need us to bring beyond several sets of nostrils to detect the 'secret odor' on the stairs. Is there a price with that for whoever finds it?
I have to be at Cilantro at 3:30pm and will be working until, at the very earliest, 11pm. Which means my night is completely nixed. It would absolutely make my night if you guys came in, but I understand parties at the Bozzolo-Lundry household can get pretty wild, especially if they involve Danger!, christmas decorations and funky smells! JB, are you making meatballs???
But just in case you guys decide to come, let me know! I'll make a reservation for your guys and you'll most certainly get VIP treatment! Dad- free chorizo. Carla- extra scoops of Mango serbet. Mom- spinach pies??
On another note, I heard from Guillaume yesterday. He says that Israel reminds him of Florida and the people are much more stuck-up than in India. hmm...
